4 minLesson 5/6

Knowing when to edit, when to re-roll and when to actually regenerate.

Almost nothing is perfect on the first generation, and that is fine - the craft is in refining efficiently, not in getting it right in one shot. The question every time is which of three moves actually fits what went wrong.

Edit, re-roll, or regenerate

If one specific detail is wrong and the rest is right, edit it - that preserves everything else exactly. If the whole image is close but you want a different roll of the same idea, generate again with the same prompt and character. If the core idea itself is wrong - the wrong setting, the wrong mood entirely - rewrite the prompt and start fresh instead of trying to patch your way there with edits.

  1. 1Ask what specifically is wrong before touching anything.
  2. 2One wrong detail, everything else right - edit it.
  3. 3Right idea, want a different take - regenerate with the same prompt.
  4. 4Wrong idea entirely - rewrite the prompt from scratch.

Keep a locked character attached through every round of iteration - it is one variable you never have to worry about while you fix everything else.

Knowing which move to reach for saves both time and credits. The final lesson in this track is about the decision that comes before any of this: which model to reach for in the first place.
